third person

Third person Point of View is told from the point of view of an external narrator. The words ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘they’ are often used.

An ‘omniscient’ third person narration means that the reader (and the narrator) know what all the characters are doing (and can understand their motivations).

‘Limited’ third person is very closely linked to the understanding and motivations of one character in particular. With the limited third person POV, you can only see what is happening in a scene where the narrator is present.
