Ada is my secondary character. Being a story set in Victorian times, there was no way of diagnosing autism, but I’ve always wondered how someone on the spectrum was treated in older times. This character uses my knowledge of some of the difficulties and behaviours associated with autistic people and imagines what might have happened if Ada was born into the wrong Victorian family. Can Sophia help Ada to find a way back into society?
